Lundbeck‘s Pentobarbital kills its 51st patient in Arizona on April 25th, 2012 and its 52nd patient in Texas on April 26th, 2012
The state of Arizona killed Thomas Kemp on April 25, 2012. As the one-drug execution began, Kemp’s eyes closed and his body visibly shook for several seconds before he went quiet and appeared to fall asleep with a few deep breaths. He was pronounced dead at 10:08 a.m, he was 63 years old. His attorney was “very disturbed” after seeing his client shake for several seconds upon receiving his lethal injection, although it is difficult to tell whether Kemp had a strong adverse reaction to the Pentobarbital.
The state of Texas, living up to its reputation, killed Beunka Adams on April 26, 2012. In his last statement, he said: “Everything that happened that night was wrong, If I could take it back, I would. … I messed up and can’t take that back.” He was pronounced at 6:25pm. He was 29 years old.
