July 29, 2011 - Lundbeck Executes 23

Lundbeck‘s Pentobarbital kills its 23rd patient in Delaware on July 29, 2011.

For the first time since 2005, and thanks to Lundbeck, Delaware executed Robert Jackson III. He died proclaiming his innocence. The A.P. reports:

“When the execution began, Jackson started making a snoring sound, his lips sputtered and his breath began to quicken. Prison officials closed the curtain between the execution chamber and witnesses after about four minutes to check whether he was conscious, calling out twice, “Inmate Jackson, can you hear me?” There was no response. When the curtain reopened a minute later, Jackson made no more movements or sounds. From start to finish, the execution took about 10 minutes.”

Lundbeck is now responsible for 23 of the 31 executions carried out so far in the United States since December 2010.

Two more patients await Lundbeck’s treatment in August 2011:

Martin Robles, Texas, August 10, 2011
Jerry Jackson, Virginia, August 18, 2011

About The Pentobarbital Experiment

"Lundbeck is a global pharmaceutical company engaged in the research and development, production, marketing and sale of drugs for treatment of psychiatric and neurological disorders." As the sole supplier of Pentobarbital to US departments of corrections, Danish company Lundbeck took an active and dedicated part in the executions of human beings. This is a clear violation of its ethical obligations as a European pharmaceutical laboratory. Its manufacturing plant for Pentobarbital is based in Kansas, USA. Here is the full story: the facts and the numbers brought to you by European activists dedicated to the universal abolition of the death penalty. Disclaimer: This blog was created to raise awareness and to encourage legitimate citizen actions to bring an end to the torturous executions in the USA. It does not, and never did advocate violence or retaliation against whoever participates in the legal lynchings of human beings. View all posts by The Pentobarbital Experiment

Crimes are always monstrous, criminals rarely are. The purpose of justice is to maintain and elevate social peace, not to avenge a crime. The death penalty is the wrong answer no matter the crime and the method of execution, constitutionally, cannot be a form of torture of any kind. The punishment itself is torture enough!
