On September 22nd, the state of Alabama killed Derrick Mason at Holman prison. He apologized to the victim’s family before the lethal injection began. He died under his mother’s eyes. Derrick Mason was pronounced dead at 6:49pm, he was 37 years old.

Lundbeck’s killing streak continues to shame Western Europe, a death penalty free zone, where executioners are not welcome, particularly when they pretend to be dedicated to saving lives.

Lundbeck is now responsible for 29 of the 37 executions carried out so far in the United States since December 2010.

Three more patients await Lundbeck’s treatment in September 2011:

David Jordan, Tennessee, September 27, 2011
Manuel Valle, Florida, September 28, 2011
Robert Flor, Pennsylvania, September 29, 2011

About The Pentobarbital Experiment

"Lundbeck is a global pharmaceutical company engaged in the research and development, production, marketing and sale of drugs for treatment of psychiatric and neurological disorders." As the sole supplier of Pentobarbital to US departments of corrections, Danish company Lundbeck took an active and dedicated part in the executions of human beings. This is a clear violation of its ethical obligations as a European pharmaceutical laboratory. Its manufacturing plant for Pentobarbital is based in Kansas, USA. Here is the full story: the facts and the numbers brought to you by European activists dedicated to the universal abolition of the death penalty. Disclaimer: This blog was created to raise awareness and to encourage legitimate citizen actions to bring an end to the torturous executions in the USA. It does not, and never did advocate violence or retaliation against whoever participates in the legal lynchings of human beings. View all posts by The Pentobarbital Experiment

Good blog. Hey, a few questions:
    1. Did any of the other executioners share their pentobarbital killing protocol with Florida?
    2. Who’s in charge of the execution of Manuel Valle on Sept. 28?
    3. Troy Davis (Georgia) apparently closed his eyes when sedated, unlike Dr. Musso’s (Rainbow Associates) first pentobarbital killing, who jerked around and was obviously tortured. So did Musso alter the protocol for Davis?
    4. What’s the difference in body weight between Davis and Valle? What are the chances that Florida WON’T torture Valle in two days?

Lundbeck are actually against the use of their drug in death penalty cases. They make the drug for veterinary medicine. It is the US States that bought the drug, with Lundbeck blissfully unaware of what it was to be used for. I doubt that they will receive another shipment, particularly as Lundbeck are changing the wording of their contracts to preclude the sale of the drug for the purposes of administering capital punishment. Dont blame Lundbeck, blame the states that actually carry out mass murder!
