Despite the fact that he was represented by “grossly deficient” lawyers, the US Supreme Court denied the last appeal filed for Keith Thurmond, he was put to death by the state of Texas on March 7, 2012. As the drugs began flowing, he said, “You can taste it.” He wheezed and snored before losing consciousness. He was pronounced dead at 6:22pm, he was 52 years old.

He apologized to his family and to the victims. He was pronounced dead at 11:26am, he was 47 years old. He kept a diary during the last weeks of his life.
